Applications are invited from suitably qualified dental practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District.
Successful applicants will be an essential member of our team providing clinical leadership and promoting patient safety and quality in the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics.
The Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics provides state of the art clinical care to patients of WSLHD as being a tertiary referral centre for the state of NSW.
The position provides contemporary comprehensive specialist orthodontic dental services throughout the hospital for optimal patient outcomes. This will involve the delivery of care by way of outpatient clinics that best meets clinical needs and requirements of the department. This role may include graduate and postgraduate teaching if time permits, research and supervision particularly to junior registrars and dental officer staff.
Selection Criteria
· Possess current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Orthodontic Dentist Specialist. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
· Sound clinical knowledge in Orthodontics demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
· Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical /Dental Practitioner including:
o High level interpersonal and communication skills.
o Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
o Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.
o Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision
· Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
