What you'll be doing 
As the Senior Scientific Officer – Quality Control (Sleep), you will oversee and strengthen the quality management systems that support clinical and research activities within the Sleep Investigation and Research Centre. You’ll partner closely with clinical and scientific staff to develop robust procedures, deliver continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

  • Define, maintain and improve operational processes, procedures and documentation

  • Lead internal audit programs, including auditor training and support

  • Contribute to service planning, accreditation readiness and quality system development

  • Support staff development through orientation, training and performance initiatives

  • Provide operational support and leave relief for the Sleep Services Manager, including rostering, payroll coordination and staffing oversight

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold a relevant Science Degree

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience in quality control in a sleep laboratory or relevant industry.

  2. Relevant degree in Respiratory and/or Sleep Physiology.

  3. Knowledge of and commitment to quality improvement and workplace safety

  4. Experience with patient monitoring techniques in respiratory, neurology or sleep physiology

  5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

  6. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills

  7. Experience in external accreditation processes

  9. Skills in Database interrogation, implementation and creation, basic biomedical engineering including troubleshooting techniques and project management would be advantageous
