What you'll be doing

The Quality and Patient Safety Manager provides high level support and advice to the Oral Health Service Director, Executive, seniors and staff across clinical and strategic teams on all facets of quality and patient
safety to foster and develop an organisational culture in which quality and risk management and reduction in patient harm becomes an integral part of core business.

The position also plays a lead role in accreditation activities against national standards and benchmarks, in collaboration with the Oral Health Director, Executive and clinicians.

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline, or equivalent experience or a combination of study and work experience
  2. Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply the principles of patient safety, human factors and quality in a clinical setting, in particular relating to Public Oral Health Services
  3. Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and managing quality systems, projects and programs including demonstrated experience in change management practices
  4. Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire technical knowledge and skills in patient safety and clinical quality tools
  5. A sound understanding of clinical risk management concepts, processes and subsequent mitigation of identified patient safety risks
  6. Demonstrated high level management and organisational skills and capacity to deliver high quality deliverables within agreed timeframes.
  7. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with a strong customer service approach
  8. Current unencumbered NSW Drivers Licence, Class C and ability to travel throughout the Local Health District in accordance with position responsibilities.
