About the Role 


SLHD Mental Health Service is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services. 

 

The Quality and Risk Manager is responsible for working with the Mental Health Executive to enhance the quality and safety of mental health care in the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD), including providing support to the new forensic mental health facility which will be opening in early 2026.

Ideal Candidate

  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive equivalent work experience in clinical governance, clinical risk management, patient safety, continuous practice, and systems improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience of organisational readiness and preparation for accreditation against the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management including an established track record in effectively delivering milestones, the ability to analyze data and information, and to develop and monitor plans for improvement.
