Selection Criteria:
  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.

  2. Minimum 3 years postgraduate experience with at least 18 months previous surgical experience or equivalent

  3. Demonstrated advanced abilities and commitment in Paediatric Surgery.

  4. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.

  5. Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.

  6. Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.

  7. Demonstrated contribution to the development of hospital services e.g. participation in Paediatric Junior Staff matters, representation on behalf of the Hospital, participation in Hospital Committees preferable.

  8. Emergency Management of Severe Trauma Course (EMST / ATLS or equivalent) and Emergency Management of Severe Burns.
