Selection Criteria:

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand or equivalent overseas college as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
  3. 6 months experience in an accredited paediatric teaching hospital (if Emergency Medicine or Intensive Care Medicine trainee) or in an ACEM or equivalent accredited mixed ED (if Paediatric trainee) in addition to demonstrated interest in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
  4. Completion of APLS or equivalent within 5 years, or on a waiting list/scheduled to undertake the course.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
  6. Demonstrated ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
  7. Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
  8. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated ability to work independently within a complex clinical environment.
