This contract will commence from 2 February 2026 and end on 31 January 2027.
About our Role
As a Provisional Fellow in Cancer Genetics, you will work in a multidisciplinary team with medical specialists and genetic counsellors across two local health districts: either South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) OR Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) and North Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD).
Successful applicants will be involved in adult cancer genetics clinics, screening and management clinics (such as high risk breast clinics), and inpatient consultations. Clinical Genetics fellows participate in activities of the NSW and Australian clinical genetics and cancer genetics intercampus educational programs. Participation in teaching other junior staff is encouraged. Opportunities exist for some clinical research within these positions, subject to availability.
Our Provisional Fellow position provides trainees with immersive, supported learning of the basic principles of clinical cancer genetics, cancer syndrome diagnosis and management, subspecialty multidisciplinary meeting participation, genetic testing, counselling and ethical issues relevant to both cancer genetics and broader genetic practice. It will provide the successful applicants with a unique opportunity to become familiar with the application and interpretation of new genomic testing techniques.
