- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or suitable overseas specialist qualification in Emergency Medicine or final year of training towards fellowship.
- Clinical excellence across the entire range of the emergency medicine casemix, including trauma and paediatrics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- An ability to work as part of a team in the Emergency Department.
- Commitment to quality improvement and research in the Emergency Department.
- Commitment to ongoing education and teaching of nursing staff, medical students and postgraduate medical staff at all levels.
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent)
