Each year we care for more than 60,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 50,000 patients are admitted to the inpatient units of our hospital. We also have a busy outpatient service and rural outreach service and provide more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year.

What you'll be doing
To provide high standard and effective clinical management of infectious diseases inpatients and outpatients, under the supervision of Attending Medical Officers (AMO), including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records in the context of advanced training (FRACP) in Infectious Diseases; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments and includes three HIV and related conditions clinics at the POWH and The Albion Centre.
To undertake clinical teaching of basic physician trainees and undertake clinical research.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Eligible for Advanced Training in Infectious Diseases, Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
- Successful completion of FRACP examination, or equivalent.
- At least three years’ experience in a public hospital service as defined under this award.
- Demonstrated interest in HIV infection and/or viral hepatitis and/or working with the populations affected by these conditions.
- Demonstrated experience in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
