What you’ll be doing
The Fellow will be assigned to Medical Oncology Department at St George & Sutherland Hospitals for the specified term of 12 months to undertake specific tasks and responsibilities. The position is based at St George Hospital with the main role to provide clinical care to medical oncology outpatients under the supervision of a Senior Staff Specialist for 1 clinic per week and support the provision of inpatient care as required. The position will focus on genitourinary and breast malignancies. Opportunities will be available to participate in clinical trials and research
The Fellow will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and support the supervision of Advanced Trainees, Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) and medical students as required. The Fellow will also participate in clinical meetings and teaching and be subject to training and performance reviews.

Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Must have completed the core component of advanced training and eligible for elective year in Medical Oncology or have completed the requirements for Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a Medical Oncologist.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a project (e.g. research, quality assurance) and demonstrated ability in basic research skills, literature review, critical thinking, data collection, data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utlisiing excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
- Demonstrated organisational skills, good time management skills and capacity for self-directed learning.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills and capacity to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Commitment to core values of hospital based medical practice: patient care, teaching, research and quality improvement.
- Understanding that training commitment entails potential secondment to community, regional and or rural hospital
