We are looking for someone who can:

 

  • Participate in specialist teams to develop and implement specific projects and initiatives that improve the provision of health service delivery, ensuring high levels of work performance and completion of projects.
  • Participate in the review of health service delivery reform initiatives, working with local health districts and specialty health networks to formulate specific strategies to achieve improvements in the provision of health services for Aboriginal people.
  • Contribute to the development of statewide plans and strategies for development and implementation of health management across localities for services, including budget allocation, program promotion, management, reporting and evaluation.
  • Facilitate and enable community development activities including networking with government, nongovernment and community agencies, and communities statewide.

What you will be doing

The Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Project Officer will promote develop and implement strategic change management initiatives that will improve the level and quality of health services for Aboriginal people across NSW. This includes projects that support better integration of care across sectors.

The role will work collaboratively with ACI Clinical Networks, local health districts and specialty health networks managers and clinicians, the Aboriginal Community Controlled sector and other key stakeholders to facilitate the contribution of internal and external stakeholders in the innovation of new programs, frameworks and models of care and clinical guidelines across the state.

This role will also provide high level advice and executive support functions to senior committees and taskforces.

Employment Type: Full Time - Exempt (up to November 2025)
Position Classification: Health Manager Level 3
Remuneration: $127,150.00 - $144,444.00 per annum excluding Superannuation
Hours Per Week: 40 (38 standard + 2hrs toward ADO)

Selection Criteria  

  1. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such under section 14 (d) of the NSW Antidiscrimination Act (1977), with knowledge and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
  2. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice which is strategic and adds value to a project at a statewide level.
  4. High level community development skills including the ability to manage and support multidisciplinary teams.
