We're seeking a confident and culturally connected Program Manager to join our passionate team based in Tamworth – Gomeroi/Kamilaroi Country. Self-determination drives this leadership role and offers the unique opportunity to design, deliver, and evaluate large-scale, population-wide health promotion initiatives that directly improve the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Hunter New England
You’ll lead a small but powerful team, bring a strong voice to the table, and contribute to a workplace that values cultural respect, lived experience, and community engagement. We’re looking for someone who can grow into this space, or already thrives in it and who has the strength to be a leader even when they’re the only one in the room with their perspective.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of innovative, evidence-based health promotion programs
- Ensure programs are culturally safe, community-informed and effective for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, key health organisations, and research partners
- Mentor staff and manage allocated resources to meet strategic goals
- Actively contribute to closing the gap through engagement with the Population Health Aboriginal Network and other key initiatives

About you:
- You have a relevant tertiary qualification (health or social science) and experience delivering impactful health promotion programs
- You bring cultural knowledge and community connection, and the confidence to lead with it
- You’re skilled in evaluation, data-driven planning and translating research into real-world impact
- You’re collaborative, values-driven, and passionate about improving outcomes for Aboriginal people
- You’re open to growth and mentoring, and committed to lifelong learning

Additional Information:
