The Principal Financial Analyst – Capital supports the Director, Capital Reporting in providing expert financial oversight and analysis of NSW Health’s capital works program, ensuring alignment between approved funding sources and expenditure.
The role plays a key part in monitoring performance, supporting governance, and meeting Treasury and internal reporting requirements.
Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $154,231 – $178,369 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
Provide financial oversight of the Capital Works Program, ensuring alignment between funding sources and expenditure
Lead monthly validation and reconciliation of capital funding data across health entities
Deliver high-quality reporting and analysis on capital performance, risks and variances to executives and NSW Treasury
Undertake capital budget analysis, forecasting and risk assessment to support decision making
Review financial viability of capital projects, including funding sources and recurrent cost impacts
Contribute to strategic asset planning, including long-term capital investment frameworks such as the Ten-Year Capital Investment Strategic Plan
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and /or demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on managing, motivating, and developing staff to drive team performance and achieve business objectives
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of capital reporting matters, including application of public sector accounting requirements and financial management procedures including the Government Sector Finance Act, Treasurer's Directions, relevant legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret financial data, compile and present clear and accurate financial reporting on complex programs or projects.
