Join eHealth NSW as a Principal Engineer in our Cloud and Enterprise Infrastructure – Corporate Applications team, where your expertise will directly contribute to improving healthcare outcomes across the state.
In this pivotal role, you’ll design and support cutting-edge hybrid solutions built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle engineered systems. You’ll leverage your deep technical knowledge to deliver reliable, scalable, and supportable platforms that power critical business applications—helping frontline health workers access the tools and data they need, when they need it.

In this role, you will :
Be our subject matter expert (SME) in Oracle platform engineering, providing technical leadership and mentoring across engineering teams.
Collaborate closely with developers, DBAs, cloud engineers, and application teams to streamline operations and improve platform resilience.
Supporting cloud integration and migration efforts, particularly for Oracle workloads on AWS, OCI, and hybrid environments.
Lead the design, automation, and optimisation of Oracle Exadata infrastructure to support enterprise-critical workloads.
Perform incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring rapid recovery and long-term remediation of platform issues.
Ensure compliance with security, governance, and audit requirements, embedding best practices into platform design and operations.
Contribute to and promote a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and technical excellence.
This role is internally referred to as Principal Engineer - DevOps
About You
We are looking for someone who has :
Extensive expertise in Oracle Exadata and recovery appliances, including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and performance tuning for high-volume OLTP systems.
Proven experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient platforms for complex ERP solutions on OCI and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, load balancing, VPC/VCNs, firewalls, and VPNs.
Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and configuration management as well as scripting and automation.
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager, database and application observability tooling.
Strong commercial awareness in cloud cost management, budgeting, and optimisation strategies.
