As a Principal Digital Policy Officer within the Office of the Chief Executive, you will lead NSW Health's digital policy reform agenda, shaping the future of digital health, artificial intelligence, cyber security and data governance across one of Australia's largest and most complex health systems.
You will drive a coordinated approach to ICT and digital policy development, ensuring policies are contemporary, evidence-based and aligned to government priorities, legislative requirements and strategic transformation initiatives. Working closely with senior executives and stakeholders across NSW Health, you will influence policy outcomes that support safe, secure and innovative digital services.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and drive NSW Health's digital policy reform program, including the development and implementation of a forward ICT and digital policy roadmap.
- Research and analyse complex policy issues across digital health, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data governance and emerging technologies to develop evidence-based policy solutions.
- Provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive, Senior Executive Leadership Team and senior stakeholders on complex and sensitive digital policy matters.
- Strengthen policy governance by establishing frameworks, standards and monitoring mechanisms that improve policy quality, consistency, compliance and continuous improvement.

About You
You'll thrive in this role if you are a strategic thinker who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing decision-making and driving meaningful reform across a large and diverse organisation.
- Extensive experience in policy leadership, preferably within digital, ICT, health, technology, government or other complex regulatory environments.
- Strong policy development, research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, assess emerging risks and provide high-quality strategic advice.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with proven experience influencing senior executives and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Tertiary qualifications in public policy, law, ICT, health or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience, with knowledge of digital health, AI, cyber security or data governance highly regarded.
