About the Role

Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service Manager - New England North West (NENW).

This pivotal leadership role provides operational, strategic and clinical leadership across a range of specialist, trauma-informed services supporting individuals, families and communities impacted by violence, abuse and neglect.

You will oversee a diverse portfolio of services, including:

  • Tamworth Emergency Department Integrated VAN Afterhours Crisis Service

  • Child Protection Counselling Services (Tamworth, Armidale and Moree)

  • Sexual Assault Services across Tamworth, Armidale and Moree, including after-hours crisis response

  • Integrated VAN Team at Inverell

  • Moree VAN Social Worker

  • Sexual Assault Medical Lead - NENW

Working at the frontline of crisis response, therapeutic care and systems advocacy, you will lead teams delivering integrated, trauma-informed care that supports safety, recovery and long-term wellbeing.
In this role, you will:

  • Provide strong operational, strategic and clinical leadership across multiple service streams

  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture focused on wellbeing, innovation and cultural safety

  • Drive service quality, governance and workforce capability aligned with NSW Health frameworks

  • Lead strategic service development and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strengthen partnerships with internal services and external agencies

  • Contribute to policy development, clinical practice and system-level reform

About You

You are an authentic and values-driven leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable communities.
You will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or a related health field, with eligibility for professional membership

  • Proven experience managing teams and building strong, positive workplace cultures

  • Extensive experience working with individuals and families impacted by, or at risk of, violence, abuse and neglect

  • Strong operational management capability within complex health or human service environments

  • Sound knowledge of policy, legislative frameworks and service systems

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and partner agencies

  • Experience leading change, innovation and service development initiatives

  • A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and trauma-informed practice
