Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a dedicated Post Graduate Fellow in Upper Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery to join our team at Concord Repatriation general Hospital.
The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Department and Concord Hospital as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
In this position, there is a focus on advanced laparoscopic skills. Cancer surgery across the spectrum of oesophago-gastric, pancreatic and liver procedures are performed. There are opportunities for medical officers to learn and perform Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP). Clinically based research opportunities exist.
The successful applicant will be a current registered Medical practitioner, registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACs) with recognised qualifications in Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
