Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services. 

Exciting Opportunity to join the Team at Hawkesbury District Hospital, As a full time, Permanent Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 Perioperative Nurse Screener.

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be responsible for improving the process of preadmission screening / preparation for Anaesthetic assessment including but not limited to the education of the patient in preparation for admission. The outcome shall be improved utilization of Operating Room resources.

Within this position you will utilise expert clinical skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a member of a multidisciplinary heath care team. What you will bring to the role 

  1. Current registration with AHPRA Division 1 Registered Nurse
  2. Post-registration qualifications in Perioperative or Surgical Speciality with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience working in the relevant specialty
  3. Commitment to champion, educate and lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patients’ outcomes as part of a team according to best practice
  4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities
  5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, carers and a diverse range of health care providers
  6. Demonstrated commitment to clinical practice development
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision maintaining involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team
  8. Computer literacy
