About the role:

As a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) Clinician – MEHI, you will have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of parents and infants during a pivotal stage of their journey. Based across Moree and Narrabri, this rewarding part-time position will see you join a highly skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team committed to delivering specialist, person-centred and culturally responsive mental health care.

Working alongside the NENW Adult Mental Health Service and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), you will provide expert assessment, consultation and therapeutic intervention to parents experiencing severe, acute or complex mental health challenges during the perinatal period.

The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) Clinician – MEHI will:

  • Deliver specialist, trauma-informed and culturally safe mental health assessment and intervention, tailored to the unique needs of parents and their infants.
  • Provide expert consultation and clinical guidance to Adult Mental Health and CAMHS teams, strengthening the delivery of high-quality perinatal mental health care.
  • Build strong partnerships across health, government and community services, supporting coordinated and holistic care for families.
  • Work as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team where specialist knowledge, clinical expertise and compassionate care are highly valued.

You will be supported by established local governance structures, comprehensive clinical supervision, peer consultation and access to Perinatal Psychiatry, providing an environment where professional development and high-quality clinical practice are encouraged.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association 
    general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. For CMS2 or CNS2:relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of a post-graduate qualification.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
