About the role:
Are you a qualified Perfusionist looking to be part of a dedicated and critical team? John Hunter Hospital is seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our small but vital Perfusion Service within the Surgical Services department.
You will play a key role in supporting the established Cardiac Surgical Program, which has been operating since 1992. Currently, cardiac surgery is performed in one of the hospital's 15 operating theatres. As part of a close-knit team of three Perfusionists (2.7 FTE), you’ll contribute to the safe and effective delivery of cardiopulmonary bypass and related perfusion techniques.
You will be well supported by the experienced perfusion team and the Director of Perfusion Services. The position is initially offered at 0.3 FTE, with the potential for increased hours as we expand to two cardiac operating rooms in the new Acute Services Building, scheduled to open in 2026.

Requirements:
- Certified as a Clinical Perfusionist with the Australian Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or equivalent.
- Participate in an on-call roster and undertake regular unplanned overtime.

- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
