The Role
The purpose of the role under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Governance and Risk Manager, St George Hospital is responsibility for the development and implementation of patient safety and quality systems, and the promotion of a culture of safety across all healthcare settings within St George Hospital. The Patient Safety Manager will work in collaboration with services and clinical units within St George Hospital to promote and improve patient safety and contribute to enhanced clinical quality.

Selection Criteria
- Health related qualifications e.g. nursing, allied health, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team and contribute to the creation of a positive workplace culture
- High level of self initiative and leadership, time management skills with an ability to prioritise workload and deliver outcomes within time frames
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the application of the principles of patient safety and clinical improvement.
- Understanding of clinical risk management concepts in relation to enterprise risk management and subsequent mitigation of identified patient safety risks.
- Demonstrated analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with an ability to produce comprehensive incident
