The Patient Safety Manager role at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals represents a vital leadership opportunity within one of the fastest-growing health districts in New South Wales. This position is central to fostering a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement in patient care.
As the Patient Safety Manager you will lead the development and implementation of systems that ensure the effective identification, investigation, and management of clinical incidents. Your work will directly influence the quality of care delivered across the hospitals, helping to reduce harm and improve outcomes for patients.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide expert guidance on incident review methodologies, and support the delivery of education programs that build staff capability in patient safety. Your leadership will also extend to chairing or supporting key committees focused on safety and quality, ensuring alignment with NSW Health policies and the district’s strategic goals.
This role is ideal for a healthcare professional with a strong background in clinical governance, risk management, or quality improvement, who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
What You'll be Doing
The Patient Safety Manager will provide leadership, authority and delegation to influence clinical practice changes in relation to provision of safe patient care across Camden & Campbelltown Hospital.
The position is responsible for delivery of the NSW Health Incident Management policy and ensuring that Camden & Campbelltown Hospital manage incidents within the legislative requirement and key performance indicators to deliver safe, high quality care.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.
Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.
The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

- Current authority to practice with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and/or Relevant tertiary qualifications or such other qualifications and/or senior nursing experience deemed appropriate by the Local Health District.
- Outline your experience in clinical practice improvement, continuous quality initiatives, and implementing patient safety systems aligned with MoH policies, including ims+ and SAER processes.
- Provide examples of how you demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams, engage stakeholders, and drive safety culture.
- Can you describe your knowledge in information management systems and quality platforms, and how you utilise your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of evaluation methods, statistics, and research techniques.
