We are seeking a compassionate, people-focused Patient Experience Officer (PEO) to join our team in the Emergency Department. 

Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients, carers, and visitors - helping to ensure every experience within our hospital is as positive and supportive as possible.
 


 

Your Impact 


As a PEO, you’ll be a welcoming and reassuring presence in the front-of-house area, engaging directly with patients and families in the waiting room. You’ll provide comfort, answer questions, and maintain open communication between patients and the healthcare team.

Acting as a patient advocate, you’ll help ensure safety, dignity, and respect for every individual — escalating any concerns and supporting staff as needed. 


We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, approachable, and able to communicate with empathy and patience

  • Skilled at clear, respectful communication and sensitive to diverse cultural needs

  • Committed to improving access and experience for all patients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, and people with disabilities

  • Experienced in customer or patient service roles, with strong organisational and time management skills

  • Eager to learn and confident using digital tools such as the Go Share application

  • Must be available to work across a 7-day rotating roster
