Tresillian is currently recruiting for an experienced Parent Infant Early Childhood Mental Health (PIEC-MH) Staff Specialist Psychiatrist subspecialty Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (open to perinatal and infant subspecialty) role at Tresillian Nepean and Wollstonecraft.
The PIEC-MH psychiatrist will provide mental health assessment and treatment of parent-infant/child dyads and families within Tresillian (metro and regional) who are seeking support for emotional distress. They will be expected to provide high quality biopsychosocial cultural assessments of families, parents, their infants and children, provide care and treatment, and support the family’s ongoing recovery. The role will provide clinical leadership and guidance within a multidisciplinary team environment, and encourage open, collegial and supportive communication to ensure the needs of families are met.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing development and evolution of the PIEC-MH model of care in collaboration with the Clinical Leadership Team and the Executive. Supervision, training and support of psychiatry trainees, particularly child and adolescent advanced trainees, within the stipulations set by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), will be a priority. Contributions and insights regarding clinical governance issues, research possibilities, utilisation of digital resources in clinical care and teaching will be welcomed and encouraged.

Selection Criteria – Applicants must address the Selection Criteria:
1. Registered as a Medical Practitioner under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (NSW) with no conditions.
2. Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) or current specialist qualifications as recognised by the Health Insurance Commission.
3. Advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with demonstrated interest and expertise in the 0 – 5 population.
4. Clinical experience in perinatal , infant and early childhood psychiatry including assessment of and intervention with families with infants and children 0 - 5, prescribing during pregnancy and lactation, and assessment and appropriate interventions with families with infants and young children, including the emerging attachment relationship.
5. Demonstrated commitment to maternal, child and family health services and an understanding of principles of early intervention, prevention and health promotion.
6. Experience of working or demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
7. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education; and experience of teaching including university affiliations and clinical supervision of staff.
8. Demonstrated ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice including the use of telehealth and use of digital adjuncts; and continuous quality improvement principles as well as experience and willingness to participate in and/or lead research activities & evaluation of outcomes.
