About the role:

You will be responsible for providing community based paediatric speech pathology services to assess, diagnose and provide intervention for children with communication and/or swallowing disorders using evidence based clinical practice approaches.

Working as a part of our skilled team, you will receive strong clinical supervision and support from the Team Leader and Service Manager, as well as access to professional development.

The Community Speech Pathology Service works across Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle LGA’s and provides assessment and management of a generalist paediatric caseload within a Community Health setting.

About you:

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic individual who can work as part of a team as well autonomously in a community health setting. The paediatric caseload will require you to utilise your excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to different communication styles. You will possess great organisation skills with the capacity to analyse problems, set priorities and apply a range of options to develop solutions and will have a commitment to professional development, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. 
  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
