What you'll be doing
As the Pacific Communities Health Promotion Officer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of culturally appropriate health promotion programs targeting HIV, STIs and hepatitis within Pacific communities. Your work will directly contribute to reducing the incidence and impact of these conditions across WSLHD.
Plan, implement and evaluate targeted health promotion campaigns.
Build strong partnerships with community and health organisations.
Develop culturally safe outreach and education initiatives.
Support the Pacific Health Hub and HARP strategic goals.
Provide cultural guidance to clinical and community services.

Essential Criteria:
Qualification: For HEO Graduate only: Relevant qualifications in social sciences, health or related field
Selection Criteria:
Relevant qualifications in social sciences, health or related field – to be considered on the graduate scale.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Pacific communities and have established links with Pacific communities or demonstrated capacity to build linkages.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and/or abilities in Health Promotion planning, implementation and evaluation, preferably with a focus on HIV/STI/Hepatitis for Pacific and LGBTQIA communities.
Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity towards the issues affecting LGBTQIA communities, Pacific communities and young people in the NSW HIV, Sexually Transmissible Infections and Hepatitis B & C Strategies.
Demonstrated experience and/or abilities in building and maintaining successful partnerships with relevant partners including government and non-government organisations and community based organisations.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team with excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
Current Drivers Licence valid within New South Wales and the willingness and ability to travel.
