About The Role
John Hunter Hospital is seeking a dedicated, experienced Clinician to work as a Co-Ordinator and lead operational flow and patient access within our busy outpatient’s service. Current portfolio is focused on Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialty – the largest outpatient waitlist at JHH, currently supporting over 10,000 patients across the HNE community.
This position is central to ensuring timely, safe, and equitable access for thousands of patients – particularly those from HNELHD’s most vulnerable communities.
As the Co-Ordinator – ENT, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of ENT outpatient services, including:
- Working Closely with key ENT clinicians to drive improved access for patients to outpatient's services and support innovative alternative models of care.
- Managing referral, waitlist, and clinic coordination across multiple subspecialties and care pathways (including working with our local GP’S and PHN)
- Playing a key role in supporting vulnerable populations, including Aboriginal children through the Audiology Pathway and Sleep Disorder Breathing program
- Liaising with the NUM to allocate responsibilities across specialised nursing staff
- Working closely with outpatient administration staff to optimise our patient care and clinic planning
You’ll act as a key contact for our patients, clinicians and GP’s regarding the John Hunter Hospital ENT outpatient service
