About the Team

The Out of Home Care (OOHC) Health Pathway Program is a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing health and developmental assessment, liaison, planning and care coordination for children and young people in Out of Home Care.

Our team works collaboratively across multiple locations throughout Hunter New England Local Health District and is united by a shared commitment to supporting vulnerable children, young people and their carer's. About the Role

As the Administration Officer for the OOHC Health Pathway Program, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of services and ensuring children and young people receive timely access to health assessments and care.

You will be the first point of contact for referrals and enquiries, managing a variety of administrative functions while maintaining a strong focus on confidentiality, accuracy and customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and processing health referrals and enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate electronic records and databases
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information in accordance with privacy and child protection requirements
  • Providing timely communication and updates to clinicians and stakeholders
  • Preparing correspondence, reports and documentation
  • Coordinating appointments, meetings and administrative workflows
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the OOHC Health Pathway Program


You will work closely with two experienced Intake and Administration Officers and report directly to the District OOHC Coordinator.

 

About You

We are seeking a motivated, organised and adaptable administration professional who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being part of a supportive team.

You will bring:

  • Relevant administrative qualifications and/or equivalent administrative experience
  • Current Working With Children Check clearance
  • Experience in health administration, medical terminology, outpatient services or working with sensitive client information 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and collaboratively to achieve positive team outcomes
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, sound judgement and problem-solving skills in a busy work environment
  • strong organisational skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new systems and processes while effectively managing competing priorities

  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel and other electronic systems
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

     


A working knowledge of child safety information-sharing requirements, privacy legislation and confidentiality principles will be highly regarded.
