What you'll be doing 
As the Operational Nurse Manager - Medicine, you will provide operational leadership and management to ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate and high-quality nursing care while maximising workforce and resource efficiency. You will inspire teams, support professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Lead and manage nursing services to achieve excellence in patient care and operational performance

  • Build, coach and mentor high-performing nursing teams through effective leadership and workforce development

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, person-centred care and positive patient outcomes

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives, professional standards and evidence-based practice

  • Monitor workforce performance, resource utilisation and clinical governance to support service excellence

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD 

  • Australian citizen/permanent resident or valid work visa. 

 

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.

  • Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team and to represent the nursing service inside and outside the organisation.

  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise

  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate strategic plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes for the service and organisation

  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
