What you'll be doing

The Operations Assistant plays a vital role in supporting surgical teams by ensuring patient comfort and assisting with equipment management. This position involves contributing to patient care throughout the perioperative process, under the guidance of medical and nursing staff.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting patient positioning and comfort during surgery.
  • Assisting clinical staff with equipment preparation and transportation.
  • Transporting patients within Perioperative Services.
  • Restocking consumables and manage equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety within the operating suite.

Selection Criteria: 

  1. Demonstrated previous experience as an Operations Assistant or willingness to learn, as well as training to deliver services required.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively across a multi-disciplinary work environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively as well as prioritise tasks.
  4. Knowledge of Infection control guidelines and policies.
  5. Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.
