About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred (RPAH) is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.

  

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a large Occupational Therapy department providing services to patients at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. These services include acute inpatient medical, surgical and specialty caseloads; non-admitted clinics in hand therapy, lymphoedema, pain, day therapy and memory and cognition clinics; and community caseloads in palliative care and stroke. This position also manages a senior Diversional Therapist and the RPAH Equipment Loan Pool.

Ideal Candidate 

  • Holds a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with current registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist, as well as relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership and/or management or willingness to undertake same.

  • Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in the leadership, supervision and management of Occupational Therapists. This includes demonstrated ability to identify and lead change across the Occupational Therapy service to improve service delivery models and meet identified KPIs.
