About the Opportunity
NSW Refugee Health Service is currently seeking an experienced occupational therapist who possesses excellent attention to detail, an energetic attitude and enjoys working with others. We currently have a temporary full-time position available.

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in providing occupational therapy services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds living with disability and understand the health needs of newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers.

The NSW Refugee Health Service is known for being a friendly, dynamic, multicultural environment. Applicants will work business hours and may be eligible for flexible work arrangements. You will help us give newly arrived patients from a refugee background a great welcome to the health system.

You will be based in the heart of Liverpool, not in the hospital, and be close to public transport, public schools, and a major shopping centre. You’ll have the chance to work closely with patients and the community whilst being exposed to a variety of disciplines and specialities. The multidisciplinary team at NSW Refugee Health Service works across metropolitan Sydney and also provides support to NSW Health services supporting refugees and asylum seekers in regional and rural areas.

What You'll be Doing
You will be working within a larger multidisciplinary team to support the provision of short term, safe, timely and compassionate care to newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers in the community, particularly those with a disability.

Where You'll Be Working
SWSLHD Population Health aims to protect and promote the health of the local population, reduce health inequalities, and achieve optimal health and wellbeing for all residents of South Western Sydney.

The services provided include prevention, early intervention, and health promotion programs designed to help individuals and families adopt healthy behaviours and avoid illness. The team works in partnership with the community to create health-promoting physical and social environments, ensuring accessible, fair, and culturally appropriate services.

SWSLHD Population Health is committed to continuous quality improvement and environmental sustainability, upholding the district's CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment.

Working here means being part of a dedicated team focused on leading care and building healthier communities.
