Where you'll be working
Based in the welcoming rural town of Scone, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across both inpatient and community settings. While Scone will be your primary base, you may occasionally be required to provide support at other sites across the district.
You will join a friendly and supportive Community Health team, where Allied Health professionals collaborate closely and provide in-reach services to local hospitals and Multi-Purpose Services. This is a diverse Occupational Therapy role providing services to adult inpatients and community clients, including those receiving Palliative Care.

About the role
Inpatient Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments, interventions, and discharge planning
  • Ensure safe and effective transitions from hospital to home or community


Community Responsibilities:

  • Support clients to achieve optimal outcomes in home safety, community access, and connection to appropriate community supports.

This role is ideal for an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking professional autonomy, variety, and the rewards of working within a close-knit rural community

You will:

  • Manage your own caseload and prioritise tasks effectively 
  • Conduct inpatient assessments and plan safe, timely discharges 
  • Collaborate closely with other disciplines, particularly in the inpatient setting 
  • High-level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences 
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to manage complex situations


Requirements 

  • Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.  
  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered. 
  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
