• Work across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals within a rotational model
• Gain exposure to a broad range of adult acute clinical areas, with paediatric rotations expanding in the future
• Be supported through regular supervision, mentoring and professional development opportunities
• Work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams focused on person centred care
• Contribute to a seven day service that delivers meaningful outcomes for patients and families

 

What you'll be doing 
As an Occupational Therapist Level 1 / 2, you will provide evidence-based assessment and intervention services to patients across acute inpatient settings while working within a dynamic rotational team.

• Deliver high quality occupational therapy assessment, intervention and discharge planning within your scope of practice
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families and stakeholders
• Participate in continuing professional development, reflective practice and formal supervision
• Support student education and contribute to service delivery across a seven day rotating roster

Essential Criteria

  • Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy 

  • Registration: AHPRA Occupational Therapist – general registration  

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated clinical experience in an inpatient setting including experience in discharge planning, home assessment, home modifications and equipment prescription.

  2. Skills in planning, implementing and evaluating intervention programmes.

  3. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  4. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.

  5. Demonstrated effective time management and organisational skills.

  6. Current drivers licence.

  7. Commitment to ongoing education, professional development and quality improvement with demonstrated ability to reflect on clinical reasoning and implement new learning into clinical practice.

  8. Ability to work in a team providing 7 day rotating roster.
