About the Opportunity

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of nursing services at Tumut Hospital. In managing your nursing team, you will take a proactive role in overseeing and driving continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen service delivery and achieve improved health outcomes for patients and residents.

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will:

  • Coordinate and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient and resident care.
  • Oversee discharge planning, support services, and daily operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Implement hospital policies, communicate key information, and maintain environmental and equipment safety.
  • Lead, mentor, and roster nursing staff to support professional growth and optimal workforce management.
  • Drive the development and implementation of nursing practices that meet evolving patient, resident and community needs.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Current authority to practice unrestricted as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting or working towards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
