Based within our General Surgery & Coronary Care Units at Belmont District Hospital, our new Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will be responsible for the effective management of the nursing team within the ward. On any given day, you will be liaising with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient needs are communicated and met; ensuring ward KPI’s are adhered to; managing the nursing workforce of the ward including recruitment and staff development; and so on. If you’re an experienced Surgical Registered Nurse with a focus on excellent healthcare looking for your next step into nursing leadership, then we want to hear from you!

The General Surgery Unit is a close-knit, supportive team that regularly spend time together outside of work, creating a real sense of community within the team. As their newest team member, you will also be a champion of this culture. In addition, you will be supported by your fellow NUM’s, as well as the Deputy Director of Nursing (DDON) and Director of Nursing (DON). Ongoing professional development and education are always supported by the leadership team.

Essential criteria: 
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Authority to Practice with AHPRA
