The Urology and Robotics NUM is a clinical NUM role that combines administrative, clinical, technical, and educational responsibilities to facilitate the smooth operation and clinical success of robotic surgery at NBH. The role focuses on supporting improvement of the Urology and Robotic surgery program efficiency, clinical outcomes, and fostering a skilled, collaborative environment. While these specialities are the key for this role, other speciality coordination and support may be required
- Coordinate daily urology and robotic surgery scheduling and resource allocation to support operational efficiency and patient flow.
- Support the NUM 2 Scrub/Scout with workforce coordination and operational planning within the perioperative environment around these specialities.
- Coordinate inventory management, equipment readiness, and maintenance of urology and robotic surgical specialities.
- Develop and maintain robotic surgery policies, procedures, competency frameworks, and clinical protocols.
- Participate in quality activities and managing operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide intraoperative robotic support and troubleshooting during robotic procedures.
- Support onboarding, education, competency assessment, and ongoing development of perioperative staff and robotic surgery teams.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with surgeons, perioperative teams, and external stakeholders.
- Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
- Recent relevant nursing management experience with operating theatres and supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team.
