The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) for the State Wide Infant Screening Hearing (SWIS-H) and Statewide Eyesight Preschool Screening (StEPS) programs provides strategic leadership, operational management, and clinical governance for two essential population health screening programs across South Western Sydney. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services that support the early identification of hearing and vision concerns in children, enabling timely intervention and improved developmental outcomes. Working collaboratively with a broad range of health, education, and community stakeholders, the NUM leads service planning, quality improvement, workforce development, and program performance. These programs play a critical role in improving child health and wellbeing, reducing barriers to care, and giving children the best possible start in life through early detection and access to appropriate support services

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD
- Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
- Understanding of the newborn hearing program (SWISH-H) and StEPS screening program.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
