About the Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Nurse Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of community-based services across the Upper Hunter region. This role is ideal for someone with a strong clinical background in community nursing and proven management experience who is passionate about delivering integrated, person-centred care.

You will provide operational and clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams delivering services including:

  • Child and Family Health
  • General Community Nursing
  • Dementia Advisory Services
  • Women’s Health
  • Perinatal Services
  • Palliative Care
  • Wellbeing Nursing
  • School-Based Immunisation Program

The position oversees services across multiple sites including Muswellbrook and surrounding communities, ensuring high-quality care, service coordination, and workforce support. The team will transition mid-year to a new, modern facility with contemporary equipment and resources, and the role includes access to a fleet car for work-related travel. Job share or part time will be considered for the right applicant.

 

Where You’ll Be Working

Located in the beautiful Upper Hunter region, the area is renowned for its wilderness landscapes, distinctive wineries, world-class horse studs, historic homesteads, and warm country hospitality.

You will be based within the Hunter Valley Community Health team, delivering a broad range of public health services to the people of the Upper Hunter.

Excitingly, the team will transition mid-year to a new purpose-built facility in Muswellbrook, featuring modern equipment and contemporary clinical spaces designed to support innovative models of care.

 

About You

You are an experienced nurse leader who brings:

  • Previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) or equivalent leadership role
  • Demonstrated management and operational experience in healthcare
  • Strong background in community nursing and service delivery
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and team development

 

Essential Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Current driver’s licence (fleet vehicle available for work-related travel)
