Where you’ll be working

Our Hospital in the Home (HiTH) service is expanding, and we are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Level 1 to lead a high-performing team delivering safe, efficient and patient-centred care. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an innovative model of care within the Manning HiTH team and work alongside a strong multidisciplinary network to make a real difference to patient outcomes and system flow.

About the role

As the NUM, you will lead, direct and coordinate client care, ensuring nursing practice is safe, efficient and supported by continual quality improvement. You will oversee the nursing and multidisciplinary team, as well as the business and management functions of the service, to ensure high standards of care and effective service delivery.

You will:

  • Coordinate and oversee acute home-based care.
  • Improve patient flow and reduce length of stay.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Lead a dedicated team delivering hospital-level care at home.

You will demonstrate broad nursing knowledge and experience, strong professional integrity, accountability, advocacy, collaboration and a commitment to advancing nursing practice and care provision.

About you

You are a highly motivated, empathetic and capable leader with a genuine passion for nursing and achieving positive patient outcomes. You bring strong interpersonal skills, the ability to adapt your communication style, and confidence in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

You bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and recent clinical work experience in the management of acute care with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capability.
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge of clinical governance, quality and safety.
  • A collaborative, consultative approach with a strong focus on excellence, quality and innovation.
  • The ability to take initiative, generate solutions and drive positive change.

Experience in service development, quality improvement and change management is desirable, and can also be developed in the role.

You will also have regular monthly accountability meetings with the Nurse Manager HTH Services, with education and professional development requirements discussed during 30- and 90-day conversations.
