What you'll be doing 
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to oversee the clinical and operational management of the 4B Medical Ward. You will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care while leading workforce, resource and quality management activities.

·         Provide visible clinical leadership and operational oversight of the ward's day-to-day activities

·         Manage staffing, rostering, workforce performance, recruitment and professional development

·         Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges to support efficient patient flow and timely care

·         Lead quality improvement, clinical governance and risk management initiatives to strengthen patient outcomes

·         Manage financial, equipment and resource utilisation to ensure efficient and sustainable service delivery

Essential Criteria:

·         Registration: Current and valid registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia 

 

Selection Criteria: 

1.     Relevant postgraduate qualifications in, nursing management or a relevant clinical specialty, or substantial equivalent experience, with demonstrated leadership experience in an acute inpatient setting.

2.     Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day clinical and operational requirements of an acute medical ward while responding to changing patient acuity and service demand.

3.     Demonstrated experience in workforce management, including staffing establishment, rostering, skill mix, recruitment, leave, attendance and staff performance.

4.     Demonstrated experience in financial and resource management, including monitoring expenditure, managing workforce costs and using resources within approved budgets.

5.     Demonstrated ability to manage patient flow, multidisciplinary care coordination and discharge planning in a busy inpatient environment.

6.     Demonstrated experience in clinical governance and quality improvement, including using incidents, audits and performance data to implement and evaluate improvement actions.

7.     Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff, manage workplace issues and build a respectful, accountable and improvement-focused team culture.

8.     8. High-level communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with consumers, multidisciplinary teams, senior managers and other stakeholders.
