Who we are:
The Nurse Practitioner – Integrated Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Service provides advanced, autonomous, and collaborative clinical care to individuals with complex substance use and co-occurring physical health conditions across Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD). This position is a key member of a multidisciplinary team delivering integrated care that addresses substance use, chronic disease, sexual health, blood-borne viruses, nicotine dependence and other physical health comorbidities.
What you’ll be doing:
The Nurse Practitioner will conduct comprehensive assessment, develop and implement management plans, prescribe medication and refer clients as needed. The role is grounded in the nursing profession's values and governed by the Nurse Practitioner Standards for Practice. The Nurse Practitioner will play a central leadership role in improving access to care and health outcomes for this priority population. The Nurse Practitioner will contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development. This includes providing education and clinical support to other healthcare professionals, as well as participating in monitoring and evaluation activities aligned with MLHD and NSW Health priorities.
Criteria:
- Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- NSW Working with Children Check
- Current Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and authority to practice as a Nurse
- Practitioner or demonstrated evidence of eligibility to obtain authorisation by 30 June 2027.
- Vaccination Category A
- Class C Drivers Licence
