About the role
As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll engage patients with complex substance use issues across multiple locations, working at an advanced nursing level to drive clinical outcomes. Your responsibilities include clinical nursing leadership, advanced drug and alcohol assessments, patient-centred management planning, and consulting/liaising with multidisciplinary teams plus internal/external health professionals. Reporting to service leadership, you’ll shape evidence-based interventions and coordinated care that transforms lives.
About you
You’re an endorsed Nurse Practitioner with deep expertise in Drug and Alcohol care, bringing advanced clinical leadership and autonomous practice to complex patient needs. You excel in time-sensitive environments with ethical decision-making and team collaboration.
You bring:
- Current AHPRA endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current NSW Driver’s License and willingness to travel for work purposes
- Significant, specific experience within Drug and Alcohol clinical settings
- Advanced practice skills in assessment and management of complex substance use
- Proven ability to work autonomously within timeframes while leading multidisciplinary care
- Strong leadership and ethical practice in patient-centred drug and alcohol interventions
These skills and attributes will help you excel in this senior Nurse Practitioner (NP) role, supported by Drug and Alcohol Addiction Medicine Specialists, Senior Nursing Team, Allied Health staff, and the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate, with structured orientation and strongly supported ongoing professional development.
