The Hospital-based Professionals for Pre-registration Experience (HOPPE) is an internal facilitation service of nursing and midwifery clinical placements project within ISLHD. The service aim is to improve the experience of nursing and midwifery students on clinical placement across ISLHD by providing greater learning opportunities and a more supportive and safe culture within our clinical areas by supporting the current nurse preceptor role in the clinical space. As the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the HOPPE facilitation service across ISLHD and ongoing development and evaluation of the service. You will work closely with ISLHD-partnered Education Providers and internal stakeholders including the Senior Nurse Educators based at the three Hospitals sites who currently coordinates nursing clinical placements. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager – Workforce Development and Design you will take governance of ClinConnect-clinical placement booking system across the whole district. The Nurse Manager HOPPE Service will oversee the student clearance for all clinical placements. You will utilise your leadership skills to enhance collaborative relationships, support innovative practices and promote the service across the district. You will be responsible for the professional development, education and organisation of nursing staff employed as CNE Facilitators within the service. You will report to the ISLHD Nurse Manager - Education and Professional Development and have an organisational role in driving nursing and midwifery related professional strategy/ initiatives through the service in line with the ISLHD Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan.
