Are you a strategic thinker and dynamic leader with a passion for Workforce Management? Nepean Hospital is seeking a Nurse Manager Grade 3 to lead our Staffing and Allocations Unit in a Temporary Full time role until June 2026. This role will see you ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time—every shift.
This pivotal role is ideal for a highly organised and proactive Nurse Leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As Nurse Manager – Staffing and Allocations, you will oversee the efficient deployment of nursing staff across all units, maintain safe staffing levels, and contribute to workforce planning initiatives that support high-quality patient care. You will coordinate the utilisation of casual staff through the Casual Pool and selected Nursing Agencies and the subsequent payment of accounts, Project lead for bend the curve strategies in FTE management of contingency staff, overtime and decreasing agency costs and monitor Nursing Hours Per Patient Day (NHPPD), Like for like replacement of sick leave / emergency leave.

What you will bring to the role:
- Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant tertiary qualification or working towards the same, or combination of study and work experience as deemed relevant by the organisation
- Broad clinical and operational management experience at a senior level within a complex health care environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate inspire and organise staff to achieve organisational and professional outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a management team
- Computer literacy, including recent experience with HealthRoster
- Demonstrated highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and leadership and management skills with proven success in improving efficiencies, setting priorities, working in a high volume high demand environment and role, and established and achieving agreed objectives
