Where you'll be working

Royal North Shore Hospital, Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD)

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Manager, Contracts, Procurement and Commercial, the Clinical Products Manager is responsible for ensuring that clinical products procured and used throughout the District comply with Ministry of Health and District Procurement policies, HealthShare State Contracts and relevant standards. The Clinical Products Department liaises with District representatives and external vendors to ensure the clinical procurement process achieves a cost-effective and ‘best fit’ outcome for patients, clinicians and the District. The Clinical Products Manager will enhance organisational performance through contribution to ongoing change and reform programs that improve controls and systems with an appropriate balance between clinical care, safety and budget.  The position has a focus on patient outcomes and collaboration in health care. The incumbent will provide high level technical and strategic advice to the Manager, Contracts, Procurement and Commercial and other relevant members of the LHD Executive Team.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
  2. Broad clinical and operational management and leadership experience at a senior level within a complex health care environment
  3. Knowledge of procurement within the public sector, including detailed knowledge of NSW Government procurement policies.
  4. Excellent communication skills including substantial experience in leading negotiations and writing reports, cost benefit analysis, and briefings
