What You'll be Doing
In this role, you will design and deliver a comprehensive education and development program for nursing staff across all levels within your specialty area. You’ll lead the planning, curriculum development, and evaluation of training initiatives that align with organisational goals and comply with relevant legislation and policy. You’ll build strong partnerships with clinicians, managers, and education providers to identify learning needs, support clinical practice, and contribute to policy and guideline development.

You will also take the lead on quality improvement and research projects, represent education at key forums, and advocate for best practices in professional development. Staying current with clinical standards and educational trends, you’ll serve as a role model and uphold the NSW Health Core Values in everything you do.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Holds a post graduate qualification relevant to the education portfolio. Has a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or its successor (or TAE40110 plus the TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 units) and/or tertiary level post graduate qualification in adult education.
  2. Provide an example of a time when you led the design and delivery of an education or professional development program in a clinical setting.In your response, describe how you applied adult learning principles, used contemporary education methods (e.g., simulation, eLearning), and evaluated the program’s effectiveness. Highlight how the program supported strategic goals and engaged a multidisciplinary audience.
  3. Describe a situation where you had to manage competing priorities while supporting staff development and maintaining high standards of clinical education. Explain how you organised your workload, collaborated with stakeholders, and used critical thinking to ensure quality outcomes. Include how you communicated with the team and adapted to changing demands.
  4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
