About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Level 2) to join our dynamic team at SWSLHD. This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to perform both diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures while contributing to high-quality, patient-centered care.
What You'll be Doing
The role involves performing both diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals for imaging as well as in-vivo and in-vitro measurement of physiological processes, and acquiring and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to facilitate medical diagnosis.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- Diploma or Degree of Applied Science in Medical Radiation Science (Nuclear Medicine Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualifications). Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) for Medical Radiation Practitioner registration in Nuclear Medicine Practice. Possess or eligible for NSW EPA radioactive substance licence S14 for use of radioactive substances for nuclear medicine technology , IA16 for use in computed tomography radiation apparatus for nuclear medicine technology, IA16D use computed tomography radiation apparatus for diagnostic radiography and nuclear medicine technology, IA27 for use of radiation apparatus (dexa) for BMA or BCA
- Good understanding of practical skills in Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent patient care skills
- Good interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of radiation safety and quality control/improvement
