Selection Criteria

1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the FRANZCP or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered.
2. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
3. Experience in treating serious mental illness and working within a team to promote rehabilitation and recovery with a strong interest in Acute Psychiatry
4. Demonstrated capacity to provide effective clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
5. Communication skills of a high order, including those of negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution.
6. Proven high performance as an experienced clinician and willingness to participate in an on-call roster and provide leadership and support to junior medical staff and participate in regular doctors' meetings.
7. Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2007 and its application and commitment to State, National and Local Mental Health policy.
8. NSW Drivers Licence and the ability to drive.
