What you'll be doing
This position is part of a medical team working in a multi-disciplinary environment with clinical nurses, counsellors, administration staff and health promotion officers, toward the best interest of patients. The role is mainly clinical involved with direct patient care, but may include participation in training programs, peer education, clinical audit and research at the Sexual Health Service located at Royal North Shore Hospital and other services in the Northern Sydney Local Health District. As directed by the Director Sexual Health, the position holder will be responsible as part of the medical team to assess each patient and determine appropriate investigations and management pathway.
Selection Criteria
- Medical Practitioner with registration at the Medical Board of Australia or eligible for such medical registration. Applicants should have a minimum of four years post-graduate experience.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
- Previous experience (minimum of three years) at a registrar (or equivalent) level or above, in managing STIs, including HIV medicine
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Family Planning Certificate or equivalent
- Formal training in sexual health medicine (minimum: completion of Short Course in HIV medicine, and/or Short Course in Sexual Health Medicine, or equivalent)
- Evidence of research experience
- Evidence of teaching experience
